FASHIONS FROM AFAR REGIONAL QUALIFIERS
Fashions from Afar Female Qualifier - Winner receives $500, a sash and qualifies for the $2,500 Final at Eagle Farm on June 27.
Fashions from Afar Male Qualifier - Winner receives $500, a sash and qualifies for the $2,500 Final at Eagle Farm on June 27.
Fashions from Afar will be judged based on the following criteria:
a. Appropriateness of outfit for the conditions on the day (climate/weather);
b. Appropriateness of outfits for Fashions on the Field (appropriate formal daywear);
c. Style and originality of the outfit;
d. Attention to detail (millinery, accessories, shoes);
e. Understanding and interpretation of the current fashion trends without losing the entrant’s personal flair; and
f. Hair, make-up and confidence (something that makes them stand out in an appropriate manner).
Regional Finalist in both Female and Male categories are invited to attend the Fashions from Afar Final to be held on Saturday, 27 June 2026 – Tattersall’s Tiara Race Day hosted by Tattersall’s Racing Club at Eagle Farm Racecourse

Other Divisions
Classic Lady
An emphasis on classic racing style! Your outfit should be complementary to itself, and emphasise a traditional racewear silhouette while showcasing your style and originality. Millinery is essential.
Contemporary Lady
All about being on trend! Your outfit should combine the latest trends with a classy yet unique approach to racewear. Complete your look with some fabulous headwear.
Lovely Local Lady
Competitors in Classic and Contemporary divisions from the South Burnett Regional Council area are also eligible for the local award. The judges will select the winner from the combination of both classes, so be sure to let the organisers know if you're a lovely local lady!
Junior
It's the kids time to shine! Under 18s can express their own unique style. The suits and dresses might be in miniature but the fashion is just as impressive as the adults.
Juniors will be broken up into categories (e.g. boys/girls/under 12/over 12) if there are enough entrants.
Millinery
Its all about the headwear. Headwear should be stylish, unique and well made, and complement the wearer's outfit.
Prizes for Other Divisions
Prizes will be awarded to the Winner and Runner Up of each division.
Prizes include fantastic wines from Moffatdale Ridge Winery and gorgeous floral arrangements from Heartfelt Ceremonies!
